Preenv, the emulator that can run webOS games on the Nokia N900, because both platforms are developed in SDL 1.2, has come to Extras-Devel repository. Preenv has no interface, also is prohibited sharing webOs games payment, so that only serve us to free webOS games.
Steps to install webOS games on the N900 (once installed preenv):
- Extract with Winrar IPK file to a folder (name it as the game), we save it on the N900 in:
/home/user
- Open the Xterm, with root permissions (rootsh), and type:
root preenv cd /home/user/applications/'folder name game' chmod +rwx 'name of the game'
- Finally, to create an icon on the desktop, simply type:
desktopgen appinfo.json

i have install need for speed, ashaplt 5, how to close the game there is no option for close the game, if i press ctrl + backspace then i close the game the game close but one problem is that my level no save through that method, there is any more method to close the game i save my level....

Shivdev Randhawa it's so easy to close the games or any running apps, Just press Ctrl+Backspace on ur n900 keyboard and u will see the game minimizes and u can close it by pressing the cross mark on the right corner

i know that game close from 2 option first is that ctrl + bacspace & second one is power button then end task.. my problem is that if i choose this method my game is close.. then i open agon my game ie ashalpt 5 i see that my level not save ....... if there is any more method to close web os game and save the level.....

I had the same problem with NFSU, you need to go into Xterm and type the following;
sudo gainroot
cd /opt/preenv/usr/palm/applications/
chmod -R 777 com.ea.app.nfsuc
You can change the "com.ea.app.nfsuc" to whatever game you are having problems with.

well, whenever u are going to main menu the game should have be saved before(by completing checkpoints) so after u go to menu u can safely close the game and ur game will be saved
i do this for Hero Of Sparta and it works

I have not been able to download applications on my N900 since i bought it. I surf the net with the phone but find it difficult to download or even update my Maemo applications. It boots endlessly and stops without an upload. what can i do to remedy this situation as i am in need of these applications on my phone.
